From the Director
Hello again, Company!
It was wonderful to see some of you at the Celebration of Life for the one and only Jen, and many thanks to those of you who reached out with kind words.  We will share some Jen love at the Cabaret, and we’ll no doubt be finding ways to honor and carry on her work for seasons to come. For now, let’s turn our attention to what I know she would want – creating a beautiful evening of music and connection at our Cabaret this Monday!
SEASON 7!
We know you have questions, and we have answers! We will very shortly be announcing our line-up for Season 7, along with audition dates. Â We know you understand why there has been a pause in our preparation for this season, but we are on the move again. Time to start checking your emails again and paying attention to social media for our announcements.
SUMMER LIGHTS CABARET – please read all the way through!!
Singers, improvisers, there is still time to add your name to the list – but do it now!
– If you want to do something, but don’t know what, please go ahead and sign up.
– If you are intending to sing but haven’t signed up… sign up!
– If you’d rather not solo and just be added to a group, please sign up and indicate that in the comment section. Jay and I will have a few options of songs from shows past that most of you should know, and you can join in on one of those.
Still looking for a song suggestion? Try a song from a Lights Up! Show! The Music Man – (Can’t lose with “Gary, Indiana”), Into the Woods – “I Know Things Now”, Matilda – “Naughty”, “Quiet” … The list goes on.  Email us for more ideas.
Sunday, August 18th Rehearsal
You’ll have the chance to work with Jay on your song and get help and advice from us.
If you’re not doing a song from our previous shows, please email Jay your song selection and any sheet music if you have it
TIME CHANGE – we’re moving it by one hour! Instead of 12-4pm, it will be 1-5pm.
1:00-2:30pm – Individual/group singing rehearsals
2:30-3:30pm – Improv
3:30-5:00pm – Individual/group singing rehearsals
When you sign up, please note that you can choose which singing slot you would like; we don’t expect you to be at both. There is a separate slot for improv, so please add your name there if you plan on participating!
At Sunday’s rehearsal we’ll also capture some VIDEO TESTIMONIALS for our website and posterity in general. We’d like you to talk about what your experience at lights up means/has meant to you, what you’ve gotten out of the experience, and anything else you’d like to share.  Other ideas can be found here. Seniors and Alumni: we especially want you to participate in this – it’s not hard and it will mean so much to us.
This has been a project we’ve tried to get off the ground for a while now – please help us spread the word about Lights Up! It’s also an opportunity to reflect on your experience, express gratitude, and generally enter a little sentimental Lights Up! Love Bubble for a minute or so.
Please reach out with any questions!
And… on with the shows!
With love,
Amy
