Amy Love, Director

Amy Love is a professionally trained theater director, originally from New York (MFA Directing for the Theater), with a career in film and television production in LA. She has taught and directed in local schools (MCS, SBMS) since 2007, and has directed both in Los Angeles and Santa Barbara (Stella Adler Theater, Ensemble Theater Company). She and her husband own a television post production company in Los Angeles.

Over the years I have seen beautiful transformations with my students, and I am excited to help young actors develop professional acting and performance skills in a positive and nurturing environment.”

Betsy Woyach, Dance & Choreography Director

A dancer, choreographer and master instructor for 17 years, Betsy Ann brings deep mastery and versatility to direct our teen actors and dancers in their theatrical performances. Now the Owner/Director of Momentum Dance Company, she has been trained and competed nationally and internationally in the United States and Canada since the age of 11. Sharing her gift of dance has always been Betsy’s first priority and we are honored that she will continue to share her dream with Lights Up!

Heather Harkness, Assistant Director

Having performed in multiple productions in both California and Mexico as a child (a founding member of SBYET), Heather continues to perform in Santa Barbara and Los Angeles in improv shows every month. She is currently a production consultant for Santa Barbara Middle School and the theatre teacher & director for Vista De Las Cruces School in Gaviota. Having been a theatre kid since day one, Heather brings enthusiastic passion and almost a decade of experience to the creative team of Lights Up! Theatre Company.

Jackson Gillies, Voice Coach & Musical Inspiration

Winner of Teen Star, Musical Director for Teen Sing for Santa Barbara, and a musical force of nature all unto himself, Jackson Gillies is much beloved among the musical community of teens and adults here in Santa Barbara. His energy is contagious and his joy for sharing his talents inspires those around him to find their best selves in their music and in their soul.

Agatha Carubia, Voice Coach

A distinguished artist and award-winning soprano with her Bachelor and Master’s Degrees from the Juilliard School, Agatha Carubia is widely known as a versatile voice teacher, mentor to teachers, and inspiration to her students. Agatha’s classical, musical theater, and pop students have been accepted into vocal programs at the Juilliard School, Berklee College of Music, UCLA, NYU and many others. She has thoroughly enjoyed working with award-winning contemporary singer/songwriters, and with young opera singers performing at the Metropolitan Opera and other companies.  Her “Heart-Based Singing” workshops are held in Santa Barbara, California, and on the Big Island of Hawaii. 

Alyssa Morhardt Goldstein Wildwood, Voice Coach

Lindsey Twigg, Production Manager

Lindsey Twigg is a production manager, playwright, and working theatre artist in Santa Barbara.  Previously, she has served as both stage manager and assistant director for Lit Moon Theatre Company on their recent Armenia, Georgia, and Macedonia tours.  Her first full-length play Platinum Record was recently workshopped with MaArte Theatre Collaborative in San Diego.  She is currently developing two new works with her theatre company, Roaming Theatre Collaborative.  Past credits include No Exit (Estelle) by Roaming Theatre Collaborative, As You Like It (Phoebe), by Santa Barbara Shakespeare Company, andAt the Table (Sophie) by On the Verge Summer Repertory.  She is stoked to be sinking her teeth into her first role as Production Manager.

J-P Douglas, Music Director

J-P Douglas is thrilled to direct music for Lights Up! He has recently returned to Santa Barbara after living in Minnesota since 2010 and continues to pursue omni-instrumentalist aspirations and overall music-making. He cut his musical theater teeth playing in pit orchestras around Santa Barbara. Recent music direction credits in Minnesota include Pirates of Penzance, A Charlie Brown Christmas, and Rocky Horror Picture Show. When not feeding his music addiction, he is cruising around town by bicycle and spending as much time as possible with his niece.
